Peninsula Woman Charged With Assault With Caustic Chemical

The woman is accused of spraying a Good Samaritan with a chemical agent after a traffic collision, the sheriff's office said.

HALF MOON BAY, CA — A Peninsula woman was charged with assault with a caustic chemical in Half Moon Bay after an incident Friday in which a Good Samaritan was hit in the face with bear spray, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.

The incident occurred around 11:15 a.m. on San Mateo Road following a minor traffic collision. A Good Samaritan attempted to intervene in a verbal altercation between parties, the sheriff's office said, when the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Nyssa Brennan from Moss Beach, sprayed the Good Samaritan in the face and then fled the scene.

Brennan was located in a nearby parking lot and arrested, according to the sheriff's office. The Good Samaritan was treated and released at the scene.
