Popcorn Machine Blaze Had Redwood City Fire Crew Jumping
A small fire that broke out at the Redwood City movie theater created a smoke-filled cavity that took hours to clear.

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- A small fire in the popcorn machine of a movie theater in Redwood
City on Wednesday morning caused heavy smoke that was still being cleared out hours later, fire officials said.
The fire was reported at 9:05 a.m. at the Century 20 Redwood Downtown theater at 825 Middlefield Road.
Crews arrived and reported heavy smoke on the second floor of the building, then found the fire in the popcorn machine. The small blaze was extinguished at 9:14 a.m., according to the fire department. Crews remained on scene as of midday to clear smoke from the building.
