I am not one to ask for help but I have been hit with a life-threatening medical emergency and I desperately need your help to save my LIFE. I was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma in February 2018. It is a cancer of the bile duct (Klatskin tumor in the hepatic hilum). Surgery is NOT an option with this type of aggressive cancer. A liver transfer is my ONLY lifesaving option. I have undergone 5 weeks of radiation/chemotherapy and have passed ALL the tests necessary to be accepted into the Liver Transplant Program. My first CAT scan was done on August 6 and revealed my cancer did not spread and Liver transplant is still an option. If my cancer should spread, I would no longer be eligible for a liver transplant and I will die. I am desperately waiting for a living liver donor who can help me save my life. I have a great wife, two awesome children and 4 grandchildren ages 10 months – 7 years old. I want to watch them grow and be a big part of their lives.
I am currently listed on the United Network for Organ sharing transplant list. However, a deceased donor could take 2-3 years.
My best chance of survival would be a live liver donation. A living donor must have 0+ type blood and be between age 18 to 50 and in GOOD HEALTH. My insurance will cover all the donors' medical costs. I am being treated by Stanford Medical Hospital.
If you want to help, please contact me and I can provide you with the information and a questionnaire that would need to be filled out and submitted to Stanford Hospital.
I am hoping that my story will be shared far and wide so that I have a chance of finding the right match.
Those intrested may fill out an online questionnaire to see if they might qualify to help save Luis's Life.
