Redwood City Police Use Chemical Agents In Arrest Of Suspect

SWAT members deployed chemical agents into a residence after a 14-hour standoff with an armed robbery suspect, according to a news release.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Redwood City authorities deployed chemical agents to help arrest a man in connection with an armed robbery on Tuesday night, following a 14-hour standoff.

According to police, Domingo Molina, 37, pointed a semi-automatic pistol and demanded a beverage from his victims outside a garage on Charter Street. They walked away, and Molina fled on foot.

Police said that Molina, after being identified from a photo line-up, entered a residence on Flynn Avenue. A Redwood City SWAT team and hostage negotiators attempted to ask Molina to surrender, and family members pleaded with Molina to come out, according to a news release.

After 14 hours, SWAT members deployed chemical agents into the residence. Molina exited and was taken into custody minutes later.

Molina is charged with attempted armed robbery, resisting arrest and possession of methamphetamine.
