The North Star Forward Committee, formed by the Board of Trustees at its January 15 meeting, has been appointed.
The North Star Forward Committee, formed by the Board of Trustees at its January 15 meeting, has been appointed.All community members were invited to submit applications to serve, and the district received 50 applications by the January 31 deadline. The Board Sub-Committee consisting of Superintendent John Baker and Trustees Cecilia Márquez and Dennis McBride met during the week of February 2 to review the applications. As set forth in the January 15 Board memo, the Committee includes:

Purpose for North Star Forward Committee:
Dr. Baker recommended the formation of “North Star Forward” to thoroughly study the impact of North Star on other schools in our district, and on our community at large. The purpose of the NSA Forward Committee is to minimize the sense of division between North Star and other schools in the district by addressing and recommending solutions for specific areas where North Star is having an impact on other schools’ enrollment, academic performance, and school culture, and building understanding for the mission and purpose of the school.
