SamTrans Launches Unity Artwork On Buses This Week

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — SamTrans, the transit agency serving San Mateo County, launched an artwork series this week on its buses promoting a message of unity.

The artwork, contributed by three California artists, comes after SamTrans adopted a resolution in April addressing diversity, equity and inclusion.

They collaborated with the Millbrae Anti-Racist Coalition to “send a message that racism and hate will not be tolerated,” according to SamTrans' website.

The artists are Vida Kuang, LeUyen Pham and Eli Africa. Africa designed full bus wraps on two SamTrans buses, while Kuang made art being displayed on buses and Pham's work is also featured on bus art as well as shelter ads.
