San Mateo County To Resume In-Person Visitations At Jail
Visitation at correctional facilities has been restricted during the pandemic.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — San Mateo County will begin offering in-person visitation at Maguire Correctional Facility on Tuesday and limited video visitation will resume at Maple Street Correctional Center.
Visitation at correctional facilities has been restricted during the pandemic. In a Facebook post, county officials said they are “working diligently to accommodate new visitation opportunities for people with loved ones in San Mateo County Jails during COVID-19” and encouraged visitors to use video platforms.
“As this is evolving, we will continue to improve the system to accommodate everyone’s needs,” officials said.

Last summer, inmates at Maguire Correctional Facility held a hunger strike to protest conditions during the pandemic.
Visitors may only visit one inmate per visit at this time. Time slots are available Tuesday through Sunday. Those who want to visit in-person at Maguire Correctional Facility should call ahead between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. the day prior, according to officials.
