Summit Prep Getting New Principal for the Day

What's it like to be principal for a day? These 40 participants will find out as they serve as a principal at a public school today.

The is sponsoring its annual "Principal for a Day," which gives local leaders the opportunity to walk in the shoes of a school principal, learn about the challenges they face and strengthen community ties with local schools. The office was looking for volunteers to participate in the program.

The participants will have the opportunity to meet with the principal, other school staff, parents and students.  They will tour school facilities and observe classes.

trustee Carrie Du Bois will serve as principal at , and Rachel Del Monte, the Branch Manager at Peninsula Family YMCA will serve at in Redwood Shores.

"Principal for the day was the perfect opportunity for me," Du Bois said in an email. "As a new trustee for the Sequoia Union High School District, I am trying to make my way around the entire district."

"I have not had a chance to visit any of the charter schools yet. Principal for the Day is the perfect opportunity for me to get to know Summit."
