'Suspicious' Fire Damages Popular Redwood City Record Store

REDWOOD CITY, CA — The Record Man, a popular record store in Redwood City, suffered significant damage from a fire in the early morning hours on Wednesday.

In a news release, the Redwood City Fire Inspectors deemed the fire "suspicious." The fire damaged the exterior of the building and there was smoke and water damage to the interior.

Officers arrived to find a large portion of the northern exterior of the building in flames when they arrived.

Store owner Gary Saxon told KTVU that he fears some old records that go back to the 1940s may have been destroyed in the fire.
