Update: Woodside Rd. Opened After Major Traffic Accident
The victim was taken to Stanford Hospital with major injuries.

A driver who crashed down an embankment in Woodside this afternoon in an accident that shut down state Highway 84 has been hospitalized, a San Mateo County sheriff's spokeswoman said.
The crash was reported just before 10 a.m. on the highway near Grandview Drive, spokeswoman Rebecca Rosenblatt said.

The vehicle crashed 100 to 200 feet off the roadway, and emergency crews blocked traffic in both directions while the driver was extricated, Rosenblatt said.

No other vehicles appeared to have been involved in the crash.
