3 Tortured Puppies Found In Oakland

A reward has been offered to find those responsible for the cruelty.

OAKLAND, CA — Three puppies were found tortured in Oakland over the holiday weekend. According to reports, two of the puppies had broken jaws, while the third had a severed paw. The injuries are so severe that one puppy may not survive. Two of the puppies are German Shepherds, while the third is a Husky.

The German Shepherds were found around 12:30 a.m. Sunday and the Husky was found around 2:30 p.m. Monday in a trash heap at 89th Avenue and G Street.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of those responsible, according to Pet Food Express. "We are offering the reward to encourage someone to come forward who has information about who is harming these puppies so we can stop it from happening again," Pet Food Express owner Michael Levy said in a statement.

Officials with the company said they were considering offering a reward when the two German Shepherds were found, but when the injured Husky was found, it became clearer that animal abuse is probably occurring.
