Do You Think Jean Quan's Doing a Good Job?

A telephone poll of 500 Oaklanders surveyed at the end of February and the beginning of March shows that Jean Quan is not a popular mayor. Less than 25 percent of adults in the city approve of Quan’s performance in City Hall.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the KPIX poll reveals that the city’s first Asian-American mayor has an approval rating of 14 percent among Asians — less than she gets from whites, blacks and Hispanics.

Republicans give the most support to Quan, with 41 percent saying they approve of the job she’s doing compared to 23 percent for Democrats. Around two out of three respondents said the city was on the wrong track.
