Fashion Find: Vintage Western Dress

After a two-year search, a Rockridge resident recently spotted a purple Western dress in a shop window. To her surprise it ended up fitting perfectly.

For two long years, Rockridge resident Allegra Thompson looked high and low for a Western-style dress.

After recently taking a stroll down College Avenue, she spotted a purple vintage Western dress hanging in the window of Pretty Penny.

"Vintage women's Western shirts are really hard to find," she said. "But finding a Western dress is even harder."

"It totally is like fate," she said.

Thompson says the reason it was so difficult to find was because they were not made for very long.

Thompson, who plays in a country music band called the Drifter Sisters, plans on wearing it during their next show.

"They're super comfortable and they look and feel great," she said.
