Golden State Warriors Donate More Than $400K To Youth
The Hoops for Kids program has donated the money to eight organizations that help youth in the area.

OAKLAND, CA — The Warriors Community Foundation raised nearly $450,000 for eight organizations via the Hoops for Kids program this season, the team said Sunday.
The Warriors raised the money in partnership with PG&E, the Koret Foundation and Taube Philanthropies, team representatives said.
Through the Hoops for Kids program, each Warriors three-pointer during the regular season yields $500 for eight organizations working locally to improve opportunities and outcomes for youth, according to team
representatives.

"The initiative is special because the team's on-court performance directly benefits the off-court performance of countless children in our Bay Area community," Warriors owner Joe Lacob said in a statement.
This year's Hoops for Kids program supports the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, CHAMPS at UCSF Benioff Oakland, which helps students of color in Oakland and Berkeley prepare for college, College Track, which helps low-income students graduate college, and the East Oakland Youth Development Center.
