Help The A's New Shortstop from Feeling Homesick

Hiroyuki Nakajima said Billy Beane is "sexy and cool," but he's worried about the lack of bathtubs in the US.

At a press conference announcing his arrival in Oakland Tuesday, Hiroyuki Nakajima, the Athletics’ new shortstop, got a laugh from reporters when he said he wanted to join the A’s because Billy Beane is “extremely sexy and cool.”

Nakajima, 30, comes to the A’s from the Seibu Lions where he was an eight-time All Star. He signed a two-year, $6.5 million contract with the A’s, who need to replace Cliff Pennington and Steven Drew, according to USA Today.

When asked what challenges he anticipated in making the transition from Japan to Oakland, Nakajima said he thought the lack of bathtubs in the United States would pose a problem.

It's not the Shimizu-Yu in Tokyo, but someone needs to tell him about Piedmont Springs. Where else should Nakajima go when he’s feeling homesick?
