March's First Friday Peaceful, Draws More Families

The March 4 event — the first since a shooting following February's First Friday left a young Oakland man dead — was peaceful and more family-oriented than in recent months.

With new rules in place and more police in evidence, last week's First Friday event was peaceful and appeared to draw more families and children than usual in recent months, according to an article on Oakland Local.

Revelers in their late teens and early 20s were fewer, though, the article says.

About 50 people attended a Solutions Salon at the New Parkway Theater.
