Nonstop Flights To Rome Takeoff From Oakland

Oakland offers the only nonstop flights to Rome from the Bay Area. Travel time: 12 hours and 35 minutes.

OAKLAND, CA — Oakland International Airport officials announced today the first nonstop Bay Area service to Rome since 2001.

The flight on Norwegian Air to Rome's Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport takes 12 hours and 35 minutes and will operate two times per week on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

"We're especially delighted to welcome this nonstop flight connecting Rome to Oakland and the rest of the beautiful San Francisco Bay region," Bryant Francis, director of aviation for the Port of Oakland, said in a statement.

The Port of Oakland operates the airport.

Thomas Ramdahl, Norwegian Air's chief commercial officer said Norwegian Air is going to also add nonstop flights from Oakland to Paris starting April 10.
