Oakland Airport To Begin Nonstop Service To Santa Barbara

Prices for the flights aboard Contour Airlines begin at $79 each way.

OAKLAND, CA – Oakland International Airport will soon offer daily, nonstop service to Santa Barbara aboard Contour Airlines with fares starting at $79 each way, officials announced Monday.

Beginning Oct. 16, Contour will operate the round-trip flights aboard its 30-seat ERJ-135 aircraft to the coastal city, which port managers said was one of travelers' most frequently requested routes.

“We are thrilled for the launch of the new Contour Airlines flight between Santa Barbara and Oakland International Airport (OAK),” said Mark Everton, Visit Oakland CEO. “This flight will give visitors from Santa Barbara a chance to explore Oakland as well as the greater Bay Area, and will also make Santa Barbara accessible to international travelers who use OAK as the gateway to the Bay Area.”

Contour, which has earned praise for its legroom, will allow passengers one free checked bag and complimentary snacks and beverages on the hour-long flight to Santa Barbara, officials said.

In an effort to grow its West Coast network, Tennessee-based Contour began flights out of Oakland in April with daily, nonstop service to Crescent City near the Oregon border. Contour also is introducing nonstop service between Santa Barbara and Las Vegas, officials said.
