Oakland Fire Victims Identified: Coroner's Bureau Releases Names of 7

The Oakland Warehouse fire is the deadliest in Oakland history. This list will be updated as the names of victims are released. (Breaking)

OAKLAND, CA — The tragedy of the Oakland warehouse fire has become personal, as the first names of the victims have been released. They are:

Cash Askew, 22, Oakland, Calif.
David Clines, 35, Oakland, Calif.
Nick Gomez-Hall, 25, Coronado, Calif.
Sara Hoda, 30, Walnut Creek, Calif.
Travis Hough, 35, Oakland, Calif.
Donna Kellogg, 32, Oakland, Calif.
Brandon Chase Wittenauer, 32, Hayward, Calif.

An eighth victim has been identified, but the name of the 17-year-old minor will not be released by the coroner's bureau.

The fire that broke out at 11:30 p.m. Friday is the deadliest fire in Oakland history. There are 33 victims confirmed dead, and a substantial number of people still unaccounted for.

An unauthorized music event was taking place when the fire broke out. It's unknown how many people were in the building.

The warehouse appears to have been used as an artists' live-and-work space. The building was not permitted for that purpose.
