OAKLAND, CA — A man who was fatally shot in East Oakland on Friday night was identified by police today as 28-year-old Morgan Thomas of Oakland.
Thomas and an 18-year-old man who was his friend were shot in the 7700 block of MacArthur Boulevard, near Parker Elementary School and the Eastmont Town Center, at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday, police said.
Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene and the 18-year-old was taken to a local hospital, where he is in critical but stable condition, according to police.

No one has been arrested for the shooting and no motive has been disclosed.
