Oakland Man Identified As Murder Victim

OAKLAND, CA — A man who was fatally shot in East Oakland early Wednesday morning was identified by police today as 22-year-old Lorenzo Castrejon of Oakland.

Officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 3100 block of Chapman Street, which is west of Interstate Highway 880 and north of Fruitvale Avenue, at about 2:15 a.m. Wednesday and found Castrejon suffering
from gunshot wounds, according to police.

Paramedics responded but Castrejon was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
