Oakland Power Outage: Power Restored (Map)

OAKLAND, CA — As if going back to work after a holiday weekend isn't hard enough, a major power outage Tuesday morning in Oakland made it tougher.

PG&E reports 3748 homes and business were without electricity for hours.

The outage also affected traffic lights, complicating the morning commute.

PG&E had hoped to have all power restored by 9 a.m. but got everything fixed earlier, at 8:01.

The cause of the outage has not been announced.
