OAKLAND, CA — Did you find yourself bundling up with extra blankets Tuesday night? By the looks of the latest National Weather Service statistics, you wouldn't be alone.
Oakland set a new record low at 40 degrees — one degree cooler than its previous record set just last year.

Livermore tied its previous record of 30 degrees in 1911. Redwood City tied its record low temperature of 35 degrees in 1950 on Tuesday.
While temperatures were a tad bit warmer Wednesday, Bay Area residents probably shouldn't expect to find any reprieve from the cold this week.

A rainstorm is likely to spread across the region, beginning in the North Bay, Thursday morning, according to NWS. Showers are forecast to continue into Friday.
