Oakland Will Pay CHP for Officers' Help
Since November, California Highway Patrol officers have made more than 2,000 traffic stops and nearly 100 felony arrests.

The Oakland City Council this week agreed to pay for Californai Highway Patrol officers to help patrol the city's streets for the next two months, according to the Oakland Tribune.
The CHP was been providing officers for Oakland patrols for free, but the state agency wanted to be paid for services after the end of February. The CHP assistance will cost Oakland $162,000 for patrols two days per week during March and April, the Tribune article says.
Since CHP officers began patrols in Oakland in November, they have made more than 2,000 traffic stops and nearly 100 felony arrests, the article says.
