PG&E Says 3,500 Oakland Customers Lost Power
.A balloon that hit a power line caused the outage.

A power outage in Oakland started at 12:18 p.m. Saturday and affected primarily customers in the area bounded by Moraga Avenue, Broadway Terrace, Clarewood Drive and state Highway 13, PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris said.
The outage affected 3,566 customers, according to PG&E. It was caused by a metallic balloon that hit a power line, according to a report in the Oakland Tribune.
Power was restored about 1:15 p.m.
