Here is the complete text of the OPD bulletin:

On April 26, 2013 at 9:26 PM, Oakland Police responded to the 700 block of 53rd St on a report of a shooting. Oakland Police Officers located a shooting scene and learned the victims were transported by a private vehicle to a local hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital, officers were notified by medical staff that one of the victims, identified as Ceejay Leon Reed, a 19-year-old male Oakland resident, had been pronounced dead. A 21-year-old female and 19-year-old male, also both Oakland residents, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

A Major Crimes/Homicide callout was initiated and investigators responded to the scene to continue the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death and injuries. No arrests have been made. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes/Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821.

We understand and are concerned that this offense occurred near 54th and Shattuck where Donitra Henderson was killed on Wednesday evening and that these crimes have caused considerable community harm to a small neighborhood. We are hopeful that, with community assistance, leads may be developed in both cases. Due to the ongoing nature of investigations, we are unable to say whether the shootings were related.
