It's a busy weekend for Rockridge, Temescal and nearby. Here's a look at some of the things happening.

ALL WEEKEND

Mountain View Cemetery annual Tulip Exhibition, 5000 Piedmont Ave., 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, with a floral arrangement demonstration at 2 p.m. More details here.

First Friday — Early Closing

Some of the new rules put ito effect last month will continue today, according to a pess release from Mayor Jean Quan's office: the event will end an hour earlier than usual, at 9 p.m.; the shortened footprint will be repeated, spanning along Telegraph Avenue from West Grand Avenue to 27th Street; and public drinking of alcohol will again not be tolerated on streets within the event footprint. Uptown ArtPark Grand Opening

Opening celebration for the outdoor sculpture park from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Telegraph Avenue and 19th Street, across from the renovated Fox Oakland Theater. Live music by students from the adjacent Oakland School for the Arts, dedication ceremony honoring the sculpture artists and community advocates, up-close viewing of the sculptures and DJ dancing aboard the Dodo bus (www.dodobus.com).

Temescal Skate and Stroll, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. (in conjunction with Temescal's First Friday event) and Saturday, April 6, noon to 4 p.m., at Telegraph Avenue and 49th Street. More details here.

Tip-Top Bike Shop, 4800A Telegraph Ave., celebrates its sixth anniversary with a party beginning at 6 p.m. Beer from Lagunitas and Linden Street, cupcakes from Oakland Bakes, and donations, please, for Ride for a Reason, supporting public education.

SATURDAY, APRIL 6

Claremont Middle School Dads' Club Pancake Breakfast, Rockridge Masic Lodge, 5449 College Ave. More details here.

Listening session with District 1 City Councilmember Dan Kalb, 10 a.m. to noon at St. Columba Church, 6401 San Pablo, Oakland. More details here.

Frog Park monthly clean-up, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tasks or all ages. Bring gloves and hand pruners if you have them, marked with your name. Other tools will be provided on-site. Sign in with FROG at Hardy Park at Claremont and Hudson for the park cleanup and with the DMV Neighbors Association at Redondo and Cavour parks for the creek site. Grills, garden tools, and sports equipment provided. Bring your own food, drinks, plates, utensils, and if you're able, a side dish to share. Students must have a chaperone or must come with a friend who has a chaperone in attendance.
