UPDATE: Skyline High Students Return to Class After Bomb Threat, Evacuation
Students and staff were evacuated following a bomb threat Wednesday but returned to class about an hour later, according to the Oakland Police Department.

Oakland's Skyline High School was evacuated as a precaution following a bomb threat this afternoon (Wednesday), but students returned to class about an hour later, Oakland police said.
Students were told to exit the school after the phoned-in threat was received at about 12:40 p.m., but they were allowed to return around 2 p.m. after no bomb was found, Oakland Unified School District spokesman Troy Flint said.

Flint said no one was injured and that students at the school, located at 12250 Skyline Blvd., gathered on the football field while police and firefighters searched the campus.
According to an Oakland Police Department bulletin issued at 1:39 p.m., "OPD Communications Section received a call at about 12:40pm from Skyline High School reporting that a bomb threat had been received.

"In coordination with school administration and Oakland Unified School District Police, students were evacuated and officers are currently on the scene.
"At this time, not immediate threat to students, staff, or public is known. We are handling the incident appropriately in order to ensure no threat exists. No additional information is available at this time."
A follow-up bulletin issued at 2:21 p.m. reported, "Students have returned to class and normal school day has resumed."
