Two Attempted Abductions of Female Oakland Tech Students Reported
Anyone seeing the vehicle used in the attempts is asked to notify the Oakland Police Department immediately.
A man driving a gray 1980s sedan has made two recent attempts to abduct female Oakland Technical High School students near the school, according to an email alert from Oakland Tech PTSA President Terry Cullinane.
The first incident happened on Monday, April 15, about 7:50 a.m. on 45th Street near the school and the second on Wednesday, April 24, during lunchtime on Gilbert Street at Pleasant Valley Avenue, opposite the entrance to the Rockridge Shopping Center, the email said.
In both incidents, a man tried to get a female student to get into his car, but sped off when other students gathered, the email said. In the April 15 incident, though, the car was seen in the area during the next 40 minutes.
