Woman Shot, Killed in North Oakland
The victim's young child was present when police arrived at the scene, near Children's Hospital.

A woman was killed in a North Oakland shooting Wednesday night, police said.
The woman was reported shot at 8:43 p.m. near the corner of 54th Street and Shattuck Avenue, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Oakland Tribune, the woman's toddler-aged child was present at the time of the shooting. The Tribune also identified the woman as a San Leandro resident.
No suspect information was available, police said.
