Want to help out at Sylvan Oaks Library? Let us show you the ropes! Teens between the ages 13-17 are required to undergo training before volunteering at the library. Trainings are held on the first Saturday of every month of the school year (except November and December). Those attending the training will get 2 logged volunteer hours. We request volunteers schedule their shifts with their coordinator in advance, not to exceed 2 hours a day, Tuesday-Saturday. He and his fellow ghouls put Dennis through a "monster-in-training" boot camp, but their efforts are complicated by the arrival of Dracula's dad, a traditionalist vampire named Vlad (Mel Brooks). Bring a friend and join us for a classic movie, fresh donuts and coffee or tea. There will be a drawing at the end of the program and a lucky winner gets to take home a new DVD of the movie. This month's film is: "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" (94 min, 1948, Warner Bros.), Fed up with crowded big-city living, advertising executive Mr. Blandings (Cary Grant) decides to seek out a big, roomy house in the country. Armed with more enthusiasm than common sense, Blandings causes many a headache for his lawyer/business manager Melvyn Douglas, who tries to keep the costs within a reasonable amount. Attempting to keep a level head throughout the proceedings is Mrs. Blandings (Myrna Loy). One of the best bits comes near the end, when Louise Beavers, the Blandings' cook, saves the day for everyone by ad libbing "If you ain't eating Wham, you ain't eating Ham."
