Country Star Blake Shelton Picked to Host Kids' Choice Awards

Will he get slimed?

County music star and “The Voice” coach Blake Shelton will host the 2016 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, the network announced Monday.

Shelton, who has been making headlines in recent weeks for his split from Miranda Lambert and new romance with Gwen Stefani, will lead the traditionally green-slime-heavy awards show March 12.

“I’ve been on countless stages throughout my life, but none have promised the madness, excitement and endless slime as Nick’s Kids’ Choice Awards, which is undoubtedly the ultimate party for kids,” Shelton said. “There is only one team here, and it’s Team Kids’ Choice, so bring it on Nickelodeon.”

But the show is generally more well-known for the gallons and gallons of slime that are often dumped on winners, losers and presenters alike.
