"After leaving Congress, Doug didn't disappear - he continued to be involved and give back to the community. He reopened Gibson Ranch, a county park that had been shuttered due to budget cuts, at no additional expense to taxpayers," said Supervisor MacGlashan. "Doug presented a unique plan to use private funding to reopen what has now become a popular local destination - that's the kind of entrepreneurial thinking we need in Washington D.C."

This endorsement follows the endorsements of City Council members from Folsom and Citrus Heights, some of the largest cities within the 7th Congressional District. MacGlashan's 4th Supervisorial District encompasses the 7th Congressional District communities of Citrus Heights, Orangevale, Gold River, Folsom and Rancho Murieta.
As a result of Doug Ose’s entry into the race, the influential Cook Political Report, which provides non-partisan analysis on House races said, “The entry of former GOP Rep. Doug Ose, as expected, lifts Republican chances of beating Bera next year.”
