Update: Police Arrest Husband in Stabbing Death of Wife

Police are looking into the circumstances of a stabbing that left one woman dead, and a man with injuries.

Update 10:30 a.m.: A Rancho Cordova man was arrested on suspicion of murdering his wife. 

Rancho Cordova Police arrested Khiem Thuong Tran, 41, on suspicion of the Oct. 10, stabbing death of his wife, whose name was not available as of the time of this posting pending notification of next of kin.  

Tran was found to have a non-life threatening puncture wound to the chest and was transported to the hospital for treatment Thursday.  Investigators believe Tran's injury was likely self-inflicted, according to police.

When Tran was released from the hospital Sunday, he was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail. 

Previously:
A woman lost her life last night in Rancho Cordova after being stabbed to death. 

Police went to a home on the 3500 block of Granby Drive in response to a domestic disturbance call. Once at the home, they found a 27-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man, both with stab wounds.

Deputies attempted to save the woman's life, but were unsuccessful and she died from her injuries, according to police. The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of the woman and further details were not available as of the time of this posting.
