A local second grader grew his hair out for two years to donate to kids with cancer. Weeks later, he was diagnosed stage-four cancer.

ROSEVILLE, CA- Seven-year-old Vinny Desautels spent two years growing his hair to donate to kids with cancer, shortly after he was diagnosed with cancer himself.
Just weeks ago, Desautels donated 13 inches of hair in hopes of helping a child in need after a tough two years of being teased and mistaken for a girl, according to his story on GoFundMe.
The story explains that he had a swollen eye for a few weeks that had been dismissed as allergies, but on April 28 when he came home from school complaining of knee pain, his parents noticed a significant lump on his right hip.

Desautels' grandparents started a GoFundMe campaign in order to ease the burden on his parents. His mom, Amanda, is six months pregnant and his father, Jason, is a combat veteran.
“Over the next days, weeks, and months ahead they will need to be at countless doctor appointments, hospital stays and surgeries. As you can imagine with the normal costs of everyday living such as rent, food, gas, car, etc., the medical costs can be astronomical.”
