Big Rig Driver Arrested for Suspected DUI
At 3:25 a.m. May 11, a truck driver tried to turn his tractor-trailer rig around in a parking lot in the 700 block of Cirby Way, driving over a fire hydrant and getting his trailer stuck. Officers searched the truck with the help of a Rocklin Police Department K9, and found methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
The driver, a 51-year-old Sacramento man, was arrested on driving under the influence of drugs and other drug-related charges.

Vehicle Crashes into Vacant Store Building

Just after midnight May 12, officers and Roseville Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a car that had crashed and gone through the wall of a vacant store building in the 5000 block of Foothills Boulevard. Fortunately the driver wasn't seriously injured, no one else was in his car, and no major structural damage was done to the building.
The driver, a 30-year-old Roseville man, was checked out at the hospital and then booked on suspicion of DUI.

Street Sign Removed From Ground to Retrieve Stolen Bike

At about noon May 10, a teenager left his bike unsecured outside a sandwich stop in the 1000 block of Pleasant Grove, went inside, and came out about five minutes later to find his bicycle had been stolen. A few days later, he happened to spot his stolen bicycle chained to a street sign in the 1200 block of Roseville Parkway. (He recognized it because of its distinctive paint job and after-market handle bars.) Whoever had the stolen bike used a good lock, because officers weren't able to cut through it with bolt cutters. Roseville Street Division personnel responded and temporarily removed the street sign from the ground so that the victim could get his bike back.

Suspicious Person Offers Boy a Ride

At about 8 p.m. April 28, a junior-high-age boy was riding his bike on Liverpool Lane near Woodcreek Oaks Blvd., when a white or tan 1990s hatchback pulled up next time him, and the driver asked if he wanted a ride. The boy quickly rode his bicycle away from the vehicle, and the suspicious vehicle turned down a side street and drove away. The boy's parents learned about the incident several days later and reported it to police.

Officers eventually were able to talk to him, and at 3:20 a.m. he came out and surrendered to officers without further incident. The 55-year-old Roseville resident was arrested on suspicion of battery on a peace officer, making threats, and resisting arrest.
Just before 9 a.m. May 13, a citizen called in a suspicious person in the area of Vista Creek Drive and Monte Bell Court--a man riding a bike through the neighborhood, claiming to be looking for a lost bag. The citizen said the man wasn't making sense, and thought that he might be casing the neighborhood. Officers found the suspicious man in the driveway of a house on Cambridge Court, going toward a gate leading to the backyard. Officers conducted a probation search on the man, and found a driver's license that had been stolen earlier in the day from a car in Citrus Heights, and other suspected stolen property. The 21-year-old Citrus Heights resident was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and prowling on private property.

Man Claimed Hit-and-Run to Get Medical Attention

At 4 p.m. May 12, officers responded to the corner of Pacific Street and Church Street, to a pedestrian's report that a red car had hit him, and then sped off.
