Merryhill Elementary School Students Donate 300+ Food Items

Students collected nonperishable items for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services

Students at Merryhill Elementary School in Roseville recently donated more than 300 nonperishable food items to Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. The donations were the result of a school-wide food drive to support local families in need during the holiday season. At the close of the drive, students helped count, organize and prepare the items for delivery to the organization. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of giving back to others in their community.

Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services is a local nonprofit agency committed to serving individuals and families in need. With a staff of 88 and a volunteer force of more than 9,000 annually, the organization provides free emergency goods and services to 157,000 men, women and children each month.
