- Aaron Keith Krischer, 50, of Roseville was arrested for a January 11 robbery at Home Depot in Auburn. Krischer left the store with an estimated $1,000 in stolen goods in a cart. When he was confronted by a loss prevention officer from the store, he allegedly pushed the man aside and sped off. According to the online in-custody report, Krischer was charged with strong-arm robbery and grand theft, as well as "shoplifting, driving with a license suspended or revoked for DUI and violation probation." (Gold Country Media)
- Midas Avenue in Rocklin is closed for storm repairs. No estimate of when the road would be reopened was available, as of yesterday afternoon. (rocklin.ca.us)
- Flood conditions from all of the "back-to-back storms" gave Placer County Sheriff's officers the opportunity to train for water rescues. They "conducted a simulated water rescue scenario in the floodwaters on South Brewer Road in unincorporated Lincoln." I guess that's one good thing to come out of these nasty storms we've been having. (Placer County Sheriff's Office via Facebook)
- An SUV plowed into a Dairy Queen in Citrus Heights Monday, injuring three people. The SUV hit the building with such force, half the vehicle came to rest inside the restaurant. Two of the victims were sent to the hospital. The investigation into the cause is still ongoing. (KCRA Sacramento)
- Four Folsom elementary schools made the list of California Distinguished Schools. "The California Distinguished Schools Awards Program celebrates exceptional schools, districts, teachers and classified employees for their innovation, talent and success in supporting students." Congratulations to our neighbor schools in Folsom, and the other three schools from the Sacramento area that also made the list! (ABC10.com KXTV)
