Sacramento Man Shot Sunday A.M. At Motel In Fairfield

Investigators are looking for three men who possibly fled the scene in a green sedan.

A 38-year-old man was shot this morning at a motel on Central Way in Fairfield, and three male suspects possibly fled the scene, according to police .

Fairfield police were called at at 8:55 a.m. to the inn on the 4600 block of Central Way and found the victim, from Sacramento, with a gunshot wound to the hip. The man was transported to a local hospital, and the injury is considered non-life threatening, police said.

Investigators report three suspects, described as black males between 25 and 30 years old, attempted to force entry into a motel room, police said. A confrontation ensued with the room occupant, who was then shot by one of the suspects, police said. Officers checked the area for potential witnesses and processed the scene for evidence. Video surveillance is being reviewed, according to the department.
