2 Dead After Storm Ravages Northern California: Reports
One person was found in a vehicle submerged in flood water, and a 72-year-old man was struck by a falling tree, CNN reported.
SACRAMENTO, CA —Two people died over the weekend when a ferocious winter storm slammed Northern California, CNN reported.
One person was found dead inside a flooded vehicle in southern Sacramento County on Sunday morning after a levee break in several places caused flooding in the area, ABC News reported. A 72-year-old man was struck by a falling tree at a state park in Santa Cruz, according to CNN.
The coroner is examining the person's remains to determine the cause of their death, Sacramento Metro Fire told the outlet. The person's identity has not been released, the outlet reported.

Residents in Wilton were ordered by the Sacramento County Office of Emergency Services to shelter in place on Saturday afternoon, saying that rising water was making the roads impassable.
"Residents should not drive through standing water – turn around, don’t drown," the advisory stated.

The advisory described the situation as "dynamic" and asked residents to watch SacOES.org as well as Sacramento County on Facebook and Twitter for updates. For information on roadway closures, residents were advised to call Sacramento County 311.
The National Weather Service in Sacramento issued flash flood warnings and also urged drivers to stay off the road, ABC News reported.
The region was hit with a storm over the weekend that was described as an atmospheric river with heavy rain, wind, and snow, according to reports.
Dozens of cars and homes submerged, and thousands of people were left without power, weather.com reported.
