CA Driver Crashes Through Gas Pump, Narrowly Missing Worker

Miraculously, no major injuries were reported after a woman plowed through a California gas pump in a pickup truck going at least 50 mph.

AUBURN, CA — A woman barreled through a gas station pump in a pickup truck last week after she reportedly hit her gas pedal instead of her breaks at a stop sign in California, NBC reported. The truck jumped a curb and slammed into a pump, completely dislodging it from the lot, surveillance footage shows.

No major injuries were reported in the Tuesday morning crash in Auburn, about 35 miles northeast of Sacramento.

A worker at the Texaco gas station was standing by the pump but was able to narrowly escape the truck's path as the woman drove through the pump going at least 50 mph, officials said. Another person who was parked nearby felt the impact of the flying pump as it hit their vehicle and crashed into another car beside them, California Highway Patrol officers told NBC.

"Minor injury crash earlier today where a vehicle went through a stop sign at the top of the Lincoln Way offramp, drove across the street into the Texaco Gas station and took out a gas pump," CHP officers wrote on Facebook. "Traffic on Lincoln Way was not affected."

CHP said the woman had minor injuries and that driving under the influence was not a factor.
