Chabot freshman Proctor Breaks 40-Year-Old School Mark In 800
Freshman sensation runs sub-1:50 in 800 meters at Azusa Pacific Meet
Chabot College freshman sensation Reece Proctor broke the 40-year-old Gladiators’ record in the men’s 800 meters with a time of 1 minute, 49.92 seconds on Friday in the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific.
Proctor is thrilled with his historic two-lap run.
“Happiest moment of my life,” he tweeted.
His time eclipsed the previous Chabot record held Vernon Sallez (1:50.12, 1979). Proctor, a Piedmont High graduate, would rank fourth among NCAA freshmen this season.
