- An early morning fire damaged a home that was being remodeled in South Sacramento Thursday morning. No other structures were damaged in the blaze. (CBS Sacramento)
- In an effort to increase ridership after the pandemic, SacRT is offering free rides on July 4th. It is also offering anyone who is on their way to get a vaccine a free ride. Ridership dropped by 75% after the stay at home orders last year. (KCRA3)
- Get your McChicken with a side of vaccine at local McDonald's restaurants! Local McDonald's franchises are teaming up with the Department of Public Health to give out free vaccines with a free menu item. Owners think McDonald's is a much less intimidating place for your shots than clinics and pharmacies. (CBS Sacramento)
- A farm fresh food truck is set to launch on July 6. The truck is part of the Center for Land Based Learning's initiative to deliver fresh produce to communities in need. The organization provides training and resources for high school students and new farmers and now it's providing nutrition for underserved communities, too! (FOX40)
- He made a wish for a carwash in his very own backyard and Make-A-Wish came through for him! Elias, who is battling a neurological condition loves the sounds and colors of the local car wash. Now he has one of his very own! (FOX40)

- The Big Queer Picnic is happening at McKinley Park. Bring your picnic and friends and join the fun! Singer/songwriter Ryan Cassata will be on hand to entertain the crowd. (4 pm)
- The Pikey's Irish Band is playing at Tower Brewing. Come on out and listen to them as you help kill the last keg of Pikey's Irish Red Ale. (5:30 pm)
- Costume up and come out to Elk Grove for a Monte Carlo and Masquerade party! Your ticket gets you entry, $100 in play money for the casino, heavy hors d'oeurves and a drink ticket. $50 (6 pm)
- Just for Fun Art is hosting a painting, BBQ and spoken word poetry event. Ticket includes a pre-drawn canvas to paint and a Philly cheesesteak sandwich, fries and a drink by Bust Down BBQ. $50 (7 pm)
- Need a laugh after a crazy week? Head out to the Gilded Roots Studio to see the Hipster Treehouse Stand-up Comedy show. Stop by across the street for some vegan pizza and ice cream before the show starts. (7:30 pm)
- Getting tired of Swabbies? Change it up and try Crawdad's on the River instead! Left of Center is performing for your country music listening pleasure. (8 pm)

Denominations are available as low as $25 and they can be redeemed at any of the awesome participating downtown establishments.
- If you're headed up to Tahoe this weekend, beware! Police are investigating multiple instances of bar patron's drinks being drugged. Multiple hospitalizations have resulted. Police are reminding people to never take drinks from a stranger, always watch their drinks being made and to never leave their drinks unattended.
- 4th on the Field tickets are on sale! There will be food, craft beer, fireworks and family fun! This year's extravaganza on Raley Field will feature The Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra. Seriously. Get tickets to this! Where else can you be a part of a truly unique fireworks experience choreographed with a live orchestra?
