Top 5 Stories in Sacramento
- There will be lane and ramp closures on I-5 this weekend. The FixSac-5 Project begins Friday at 9 p.m. and is expected to end at 5 a.m. Monday. Traffic on southbound I-5 will be closed from north of Sutterville Road to the 25th Avenue undercrossing and southbound on- and off-ramps for Sutterville Road and the W Street on-ramp will also be closed. - With the dry weather the fire risk for the 4th of July is high. The Illegal Fireworks Task Force is already patrolling neighborhoods in search of dangerous fireworks ahead of the holiday. To date they have confiscated over 1500 pounds of contraband fireworks. (CBS Sacramento)
- A Sacramento couple got an engagement present from a Texas woman they had never met. She happened to see Ricky Johnson Jr. pop the question to his fiancé in San Francisco over the weekend. She quickly got out her camera and started shooting. She then took to Twitter to find out who the couple was and Twitter worked its magic to bring the couple and the pictures together. - We all know the fire risk is high in Sacramento County and we are doing all we can to prepare for and even prevent wildfires. A new study by Capital Public Radio found that Governor Newsom misrepresented his accomplishments in wildfire prevention. Newsom has claimed that his administration has carried out fire prevention efforts on 90,000 acres, but his administration's own data puts that number at 11,399. (CapRadio)
- The good Samaritan who helped a man in a Safeway parking lot after he had been hit by a truck is speaking out from the hospital. Unfortunately, the man she tried to help died from his injuries, and the truck that hit him returned to hit and injure the good Samaritan before going onto wreak more chaos down the road. (KCRA3)

- The Historic Folsom Downtown Parade is ON! Of course there will be a parade, but there are also bands at several venues, outdoor games and more! Bring the whole family and enjoy a day from the past in Historic Old Folsom. (9:30 am parade)
- It's going to be a scorcher! Why not cool off at the Sacramento Soak and Float? Bring something to float on and something to snack on. Dogs welcome. (11:30 am)
- Dreaming Dog Brewery presents Darth Mozart performing for their summer concert series. They're cooking up ribs on the BBQ and pouring you a cold one from their tap while you listen to the music. Ah, the joys of summer! (3 pm)
