SACRAMENTO, CA — The Aftershock Festival is coming to Sacramento for an exciting weekend at Discovery Park this October. Shock rocker Marilyn Manson will be headlining the event on Saturday Oct. 12 along with Rob Zombie, Blink 182 and Bring Me The Horizon.

Manson has been performing controversial stage tactics since the mid 1990s, and this current tour promises to live up to his infamy. Starting in Louisville, KY, on Sept. 29, Manson's 2019 tour stops in 10 cities across the Western U.S., before wrapping up in Phoenix on Nov. 3. Tickets are now on sale for his performance at the Aftershock Festival along the way.

Marilyn Manson, born Brian Hugh Warner, is known by his stage name, formed by combining the names of two 1960s pop culture icons: Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson. The irony, of course, was intentional. Manson has garnered quite the bad reputation since, which makes him all the more beloved by his fans.

Musically, he is best known for his 1990s records "Antichrist Superstar" and "Mechanical Animals."It was his performances, however, that elevated Manson to icon status. The most shocking of all the shock rockers, Marilyn Manson's on-stage stunts embraced the grotesque.

But Manson hasn't left his shock behind in the '90s. In 2013, he dedicated "Disposable Teens" to Paris Jackson, daughter of Michael. Paris reportedly wasn't allowed to attend a Marilyn Manson content, so the singer tweeted, "You will be on my guest list anytime you want," before the show.
