Meet an “Amazing” With an Enduring Positive Message

Wally Richardson, 94, greets middle-schoolers every morning before class with a fist-bump and a positive message.

Wally Richardson, at 94, a WWII Vet who served as a Navy pilot in Korea, is better known as “Mr. Knuckles” to the middle-schoolers he greets every morning before classes with a fist-bump and a positive message. Now that, in and of itself, is amazing, but what’s even more incredible, is that the middle-schoolers appreciate Mr. Knuckles so much that some even insist their parents drop them off at the precise corner where Wally stands, ready with a fun positive message for them, and of course, his trademark fist-bump.

Wally’s devoted himself to uplifting these kids for the past 10 years, and has been rewarded with “Wally’s Wall” where 3 students painted his most famous aphorisms. Something he never expected yet which warms his heart.
