Packing Smart for Any Trip from Cory Burnell

Cory Burnell discuss the best way to pack for your trips. Whether its a long or short vacation these tips are sure to help!

It’s exciting to plan a trip. You get to think of everything you’ll when there and what you will experience. When the time comes, you look at the suitcase and can’t figure out what to pack for the trip. This is a list of basic smart ways to pack for any vacation you take.
Keep a checklist:
Have a list of the essentials you’ll need for your trip. This keeps you organized and from forgetting any important items. Once you put the item in the suitcase, check it off the list. You should also make a list for the return trip so you do not leave anything behind.
Pack By Outfit:
Plan out each outfit you’ll wear on the trip. It makes sure you have enough of what you need and not what you don’t. I suggest packing an extra outfit, just in case something gets ruined. To save some room in my bag, I like to pack shoes that go with more than one outfit.
Dryer Sheets:
If you live out of your suitcase on vacation, your clothes may not be as fresh when you go to wear them. Keep dryer sheets between each of your outfits to keep them smelling fresh. This also prevents the odor from shoes from seeping into your clothes.
Travel-sized Bottles:
Instead of packing your entire bottles of shampoo, condition, and body wash, put them in smaller containers. You don’t want to pay extra when your suitcase is five pounds overweight. You also don’t want to rely on the hotel to have them for you.
Bathing Suit:
This is a two-part tip. 1) Always pack a bathing suit. You never know what’ll happen on your trip. If your plan is to spend all day outside and it starts to rain, your plans are ruined. Lucky for you there is an indoor pool. Instead of having a boring day sitting in your room, you can make the best of it and go swimming. 2) If you are packing a bathing suit, it will most likely be wet when you are packing to leave. Pack a plastic bag to put the bathing suit in so on the way home, it doesn’t get everything wet.
Spill Proof Your Bag:
Just like you don’t want your bathing suit getting everything wet, you don’t want other liquids to either. Pack liquids in a plastic bag so if they do spill or leak, they won’t get on everything else.
Packing your suitcase doesn’t have to be the downside to your trip. As long as you pack smart, you can destress the process and enjoy your way to and from your trip.
