  1. A lawsuit filed by Sacramento cannabis business owners alleges that the City of Sacramento violated State and Federal laws by charging a 1% fee to these owners. The money is used for what’s called the Neighborhood Responsibility Plan program. The allegation is that the fee is actually a special tax which should have been approved by voters. (SacBee)
  2. Going head to head with Bezos and Amazon Prime Day, this local Sacramento business went viral! Beers Books ended up with twice their usual daily receipts both Monday and Tuesday, thanks to a well placed social media post. (KCRA3)
  3. A new collaborative of major Sacramento area employers is lending hope to the unemployed in underserved communities. The Sacramento Sustainable Communities Collaborative is training workers for jobs in solar installation and other energy-related fields. (ABC10)
  4. The Sacramento Kings will have the No. 9 2021 NBA draft pick. This will mark the first time since 1984 that they have had the No. 9 choice. That year they went with Otis Thorpe. (Sactown Royalty)
  5. Video posted to Instagram appears to show a Sacramento State University police officer use a stun gun and kneel on a man's neck during an arrest. The arrest happened on June 4th and a body camera is still missing from one of the officers. (ABC10)

You can order online and pick up your goods at their store. The red, white and blue potatoes with their cured garlic, fresh oregano and Genovese basil will be on the table for my 4th of July feast!
