Top 5 Stories in Sacramento
- Police are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday in the Tahoe Park area. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are not releasing his identity until next of kin are notified. (KCRA3)
- The LGBT Community Center opened a new extension Tuesday in South Sacramento. The extension was established in response to the rise in HIV infection rates. HIV testing will be one of the center's service offerings. (FOX40)
- Pabst Blue Ribbon Unleash the Beast and Monster Jam are scheduled to be the first full capacity events at the Golden 1 Center since the pandemic began. Organizers say that fans will have to "self attest" to being fully vaccinated or having a negative COVID test when they purchase tickets. (CBS Sacramento)
- Officials from Sac Metro Fire are investigating a 2-alarm fire in a flooring shop off Auburn Blvd. They are interested in this fire because there was a fire in the same building two months ago. Captain Chris Vestal clarified that while there is some concern that this is the second fire in two months, it doesn't necessarily mean the two fires were related. (KCRA3)
- If you're having a backyard blowout for July 4th, grab your safe and sane fireworks now! There is concern that there may be a shortage and it is, once again, being blamed on the pandemic. (CBS Sacramento)
