Starbucks' Launches New 'Mercato' Menu In Sacramento
The new, grab-and-go lunch line-up is being offered at area stores, and all unsold/leftover items are donated to local food banks.

SACRAMENTO, CA – Starbucks this week introduced its "Mercato" line, a lunch menu of grab-and-go, fresh salads, sandwiches and sides with options for high-protein, vegetarian and vegan diets, at more than 200 stores in the Sacramento area.
The Starbucks-developed recipes use handpicked, natural ingredients, including breads and cheeses, vegetables, and grains and greens, and are prepared in a local kitchen and delivered fresh daily to the stores.
Each evening all unsold, ready-to-eat food – including the new Mercato items – is donated to the Sacramento, Placer and Yolo food banks.
